Meet the Skaters

Training Program

Twin City Speedskating focuses on developing the entire skater with emphasis on personal development and techniques from Novice to Elite, ages 15 and older. Our Novice Program focuses on beginning speedskaters, developing them to become competitve team skaters.

Team Skating for more advanced skaters, coached by Steve Miller and Floyd Bedbury. Adult Speedskaters are coached by Steve Trynoski. Elite Speedskaters experience one on one coaching with two time Olympian, Floyd Bedbury. Racing is weekly at the John Rose Oval in Roseville, MN.

HISTORY: The Shoreview club was started in 1964 by Floyd Bedbury after returning from the Olympics. The first practice and season was all novices at Sitzer park in Shoreview. The next year we won the State Novice Championship. We moved the skaters up to club status in the next year and continued to develop great young people and skaters.

Over the years we have developed many National and North American champions. The most important success is that we also developed successful men and women out of our programs.

Athletics can be the foundation of having a good healthy and successful life. Over the years we have always stressed having fun but never doing less than our best effort.

With additional coaching by Steve Miller working with the Novice program we expanded our service to attract more members. Membership has doubled in the last 4 years. In 2002 we decided to change the name of the club to Twin City Speedskating so we could be more accessible to the Greater Twin City area.

We currently have three coaches handling skaters of different levels. We run a year-round program of training: Winter Long Track at the John Rose Oval in Roseville, Minnesota and other long track meets. Summer Inlining ---- Running---- Biking---- And a weight program for the skaters who are ready (old enough). Inlining races at the John Rose Oval on Wednesday nights all summer. Bike training on Tuesdays and Thursdays (Saturdays for the "old" people).
